Time to Vote!

The Pennsylvania Primary is Tuesday, May 19th.

If there is anyone in your life who needs to register or change their name, address, or party, they have until next Monday, May 4th. In Pennsylvania, you must be a registered Democrat to vote on the Democratic Primary ballot.

You can request a mail ballot or vote early, in person at the Beaver Courthouse, 810 3rd St. until May 12th..

Prepare to vote by viewing your sample ballot. If you are unsure of your precinct and polling place, you can find it here. Links to the candidates’ websites and more voting information is on our website.

If you live in one of the following precincts and vote at the location below, the following Democrats have asked that you write them in as Committeeperson and fill out the circle next to their name:

  • Beaver 2, King Beaver Apts – Janet Hill
  • Beaver 3, Beaver Fire Dept – Iain Eastman
  • Brighton Twp 5, 2 Mile Run Shultz Lodge – Alexandra Kirsch
  • Greene Twp, Hookstown Grange – Christy Gibson
  • New Brighton 2, Tom Bishop Apts – Wayne Meyers
  • Pulaski Twp, Marion Hill Church – Hannah Brooks

If no one is running for Committeeperson on your ballot, you can be seated on the Committee as a representative for your precinct if you are a registered Democrat and at least 10 of your neighbors write your name on the ballot and fill in the circle next to your name. If you would like to launch a write-in campaign, email bcdcevents@gmail.com, and we can help spread the word.

May Day This Weekend

This Friday is designated as a national day of economic disruption. People are being asked, when and where possible, to refuse to work, go to school, or shop, unless patronizing local businesses.

The Beaver County Democratic Committee recognizes that this isn’t realistic for everyone, so we are planning a weekend of solidarity AND mutual aid. We are rallying on Friday and Saturday and asking those who are able for help refilling the county’s Little Free Pantries to assist in alleviating hunger in our neighborhoods.

You are invited to begin the weekend on Friday, May 1st by joining our weekly roadside rally from 4 – 5 pm at 3rd Avenue and 17th Street in New Brighton.

If you are a Democrat under 40 years old, you are invited to attend the Western PA Young Dems Bar Night Meet and Greet in New Castle on Friday at 6:30 pm

Then, on Saturday, May 2nd, several local businesses(see below) are generously allowing the Committee’s volunteers to collect non-perishable food donations from 8 am to 1 pm. Finally, everyone is invited to attend the weekly rally at the Courthouse from 1 to 2 pm, hosted by our allies at Beaver County Peace Links, where donations will also be accepted.

  1. Uncommon Grounds 380 Franklin Avenue in Aliquippa
  2. Old Crow Coffeehouse 1398 Merchant Street in Ambridge
  3. The Fence on 7th, thanks to Renee Suhr of Stray Cat Studio 1410 7th Avenue (close to Oram’s Donuts) in Beaver Falls
  4. Studio H 699 Pennsylvania Ave(side parking lot) in Monaca
  5. Beaver County Peace Links Rally (1 to 2 pm) Beaver County Courthouse, 810 3rd Street in Beaver

If you can’t make it to any of our drop-off locations, you can deliver your donations to our office at 426 Adams Street in Rochester today, Thursday, April 30th from 4 – 8, this Saturday or next Monday from 10 – 1. Due to construction on Adams Street, we recommend you approach via Jefferson Street to use the back parking lot entrance on Pennsylvania.

Don’t Miss Our Yearly T-Shirt

Our mission is to get out the vote

for our Democratic candidates twice a year, every year

and to be a good neighbor all year long!

This is accomplished by an all-volunteer Committee

and funded by YOU.

Your donations stay local.

We depend on you,

not billionaires,

not the DNC,

not the PA Dems,

 YOU help us:

  • Pay for literature and texting programs to reach more voters.
  • Rent for our office, so we have a place to meet regulary and the community knows where to find us.
  • Plan safe rallies
  • Maintain and upgrade our technology and voter outreach tools.
  • Live up to our excellent reputation at the state and national level as one of the most organized and effective Committees in a competitive purple county.

Most importantly, your consistent contributions help us recruit and elect quality candidates at all levels of government who hold our values, this year and every year.

To continue our work, we need people like you. Every dollar matters; any amount is appreciated.

For the next month, if you join or continue as a recurring donor of at least $15 a month, you are eligible for a free Union-printed t-shirt celebrating the 250th anniversary of the founding of America. (See front & back below.)
