Message From the Chair
Erin Gabriel and Erin Kelley with Governor Shapiro

Outgoing Chair Erin Gabriel, Governor Shapiro, Co-vice Chair Erin Kelley

First, I want to congratulate to our candidates and our newly elected and re-elected county and state committee members. A big thank you to our volunteers whose efforts made these wins possible. Democrats in Beaver County outperformed in this primary, so I know we have the enthusiasm to win as we move into the general election.

I got involved in politics for my children– to ensure that the promise of freedom and opportunity was a reality for all of us, including kids like mine with disabilities. Raising kids who experience the world differently has the potential to be a lonely path, but because of the friendships and family we found with all of you, our daughter Abby and our other kids have grown up knowing that they are accepted, included, celebrated, and loved by this broader community. There is no greater gift I can imagine, and I will never be able to thank you all enough for it.

As many of you already know, I have decided not to seek re-election as Chair. Between a full-time job, a child attending college out of state, aging parents who also live out of state, and Abby’s increasingly complex medical needs, I can no longer give this role the time and energy that the Committee deserves. Our family’s focus now must be on making memories together.

I’m excited to share that our Co-vice Chair, Erin Kelley, is ready to lead this committee forward. Erin is a Beaver County native with deep experience in local elections and a strong commitment to our Democratic values. She approaches our work with joy and brings the focus, energy, and enthusiasm this critical moment in our history requires. I hope she will have your full support as our next Chair.

As we prepare for the 2026 election, we will need everyone’s help to defend and expand our 1-seat Democratic majority in the Pennsylvania State House by re-electing State Representative Rob Matzie and electing Sydney Speicher and Jake Young. Our work to re-elect Governor Josh Shapiro and Lieutenant Governor Austin Davis is now more critical than ever, as we look to them to defend Pennsylvanians against many of the dangerous policies of the current president and his Republican allies. And we must return Congressman Chris Deluzio to Washington to continue fighting for our communities and our rights in a new Democratic majority.

Thank you all for your hard work, support, and dedication. This committee is strong because of each of you, and together we are ready for the challenges ahead.

With immense gratitude,

Erin Gabriel

Chair of the Beaver County Democratic Committee

Primary Results

Thank you to the candidates, volunteers, election workers & our voters. Over 30% of you voted, compared to just under 20% of the registered Republicans. We are ready to grow that enthusiasm as we head to November.

Congratulations to our State Committee members Mary Jane Jones Gilliam, Hannah Brooks, and Joe Janos. A big thanks to Michael Jackson for his service to State Committee from 2022 – 2026.

On November 3rd there will be a Democrat in every race on the Beaver County ballot! Write-in candidate Jake Young secured a spot on the ballot to give voters in the 14th District of the PA General Assembly a choice in the General Election.

The unofficial results are posted on the Beaver County Board of Elections website.

Reorganization Meeting

If you were elected to represent your precinct as Committeeman or Committeewoman, your first duty is to vote in the BCDC Reorganization Meeting, on Thursday, June 4th, where we select our new officers, including a Chair, a male and female Co-vice Chair, a Secretary, and a Treasurer, for terms lasting until the next reorganization in 2030.

If you are waiting for the results of a write-in campaign for Committeeperson, those will be announced by the County Board of Elections shortly. Both write-in winners and official ballot winners will receive a letter and a certificate notifying them of their win ahead of our meeting.

If you are not an elected member of the Committee, you’re still invited to the meeting, but you cannot vote for the officers, even if you were previously elected or appointed to the Committee. Sign up on Mobilize before Wednesday, June 5th, to receive the meeting location by email.

Doors open at 6:30. The Meeting begins at 7 p.m.
