No Kings Rally Saturday

This newsletter below the list was sent on June 10th and looks nicer in your inbox. Sign up to receive our emails. Highlights and updates since the newsletter was published:

  1. Watch your email and our social media for any weather update. We won’t cancel due to rain, but lightning may make us pause.
  2. Be prepared for a large crowd. There is parking lot next to the Courthouse and street parking available. Please be respecful to home owners and local businesses.
  3. Restrooms will not be available.
  4. If you can, please bring items to donate to the Military Mission of Beaver County. See list below.
  5. We would love to see your American flags.
  6. Wear your red, white, and blue or for veterans, a hat or t-shirt identifying yourself as one.
  7. A core principle behind all our events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values. If confrontation is initiated, ignore and walk away from the individuals, start an alternative chant(U.S.A.) or song(American the Beautiful), and find a member of the rally team.
  8. Ignore negative comments from the cars and counter protesters, but cheer the positive comments.
  9. Please keep the sidewalks open. Obey any instruction from police.
  10. Smile and introduce yourself to your neighbor. Have fun!

On Saturday, June 14th, at 12:30 pm, we rally alongside the Beaver County Young Democrats and Americans nationwide to say there are NO KINGS in America!

Meet us at the Courthouse in Beaver 810 3rd Street. Please RSVP on Mobilize so if we have any updates, we can email you.

Why June 14th?

June 14th is the birthday of the U.S. Army. In 1775, the Continental Congress created the Army to oppose the British King who claimed absolute power— the beginning of America’s rejection of rule by monarchy. June 14th is Flag Day, and also, Trump’s birthday. Trump wants to celebrate himself with a military parade in Washington, D.C., something we are more used to seeing out of Russia or North Korea.

💰 He’s using OUR tax dollars to pay for HIS party. Trump’s birthday celebration is expected to cost millions of our tax dollars, while Republicans claim there’s no money for Social Security, SNAP, or Medicaid.

✋ They’ve gone too far. This is bigger than political disagreement. They’ve defied our courts, deported American citizens, disappeared people off the streets, sent the military to L.A., and slashed our services—all while orchestrating a massive giveaway to their billionaire allies. Enough is enough.

💪 The power is in our hands. Our goal is to show that the people—the majority—are taking action to stop corruption and power grabs.

We would prefer that Saturday’s big news story be about Americans in communities big and small coming together to reject strongman politics and corruption.

What to Know
  • Review these resources about your rights or attend an online training on Tuesday night.
  • Our permit is for a rally in front of the Courthouse. It is not a march.
  • A first aid team, a safety team, and legal observers will be in attendance.
  • Local law enforcement is aware of the rally. We don’t expect a need for them to interact with participants but expect everyone to obey their directions if necessary.
  • It’s Flag Day, Pride Month, and almost Juneteenth. It might be a day of defiance, but we will not let them take our joy. Displays of celebration are welcome.

  • Signs are encouraged. If available, we suggest you use permanent markers if rain is expected. We aim to be family-friendly, so please avoid profanity.

A core principle behind all our events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values. If confrontation is initiated, ignore and walk away from the individuals, start an alternative chant, and find a member of the rally team.
Collection for Active Duty Military at the Rally

We are opposed to our military being used as political pawns and against people on American soil. To support those currently serving our country, the Outreach Committee will collect items to donate to the Military Mission of Beaver County that will be sent to active-duty members of the military during the holidays.

Requested items:

  • Small packaged food items that don’t expire before year-end (nuts, trail mix, beef jerky, crackers, cookies, bars, mints/gum)

  • Sugar, creamer, dressing, condiment, hot sauce, etc., packets

  • Tea, coffee, or drink sticks or individually wrapped bags

  • Microwavable meals, noodles, snacks

  • Hygiene items – toothbrush, travel-size toothpaste, lotion, or hair products, bar soap, body wipes, lotion, razors, Kleenex, lip balm

  • Men’s crew socks (white/grey/black), puzzle books, small games, pens, small pads of paper, all occasion greeting cards
