On Thursday, May 30th, a jury decided that the former president was guilty of 34 felony counts, falsifying business records in order to hide information from voters in 2016. The American justice system worked. No one is above the law.
Does this change what is ahead of us in 2024? No.
We still need to spread the word about the difference between Democrats and Republicans: Democrats fight for people like us, and Republicans work for their wealthy donors and greedy corporations. We have to let the voters know that they have the power to decide our future.
We must promote the accomplishments of the Biden administration and acknowledge that we can do more if we have a Democratic majority in the House AND Senate that includes Chris Deluzio and Bob Casey.
We have to introduce voters to Eugene DePasquale, Malcolm Kenyatta, and Erin McClelland, our excellent nominees for Pennsylvania Attorney General, Auditor General, and Treasurer.
It is imperative that we protect the Democratic majority in the Pennsylvania House by re-electing Rob Matzie, who is the target of a relentless opposition campaign by the PA GOP. We can shore up that majority by electing Dr. Kenya Johns and Ashlee Caul to the PA House, and we can help take control of the PA Senate by electing Kate Lennen.
If you were relieved, excited, or happy to see the jury return a guilty verdict on all counts, please use that energy to join us. YOU are the best person to convey what’s at stake to your family, friends, and neighbors in Beaver County.
RSVP to an event. Write postcards. Volunteer at a community event. Sign-up for yard signs when they are ready. Donate to help fund our work; any amount is appreciated.
Like our PA Auditor General candidate Malcolm Kenyatta said on Facebook, “Make no mistake, this election will be won at the ballot box, not in a courthouse.”
In solidarity,
