State Representative Jaret Gibbons had a big win this week when Daniel’s Law unanimously passed the House Judiciary Committee. The bill is named after New Castle resident Daniel Gallatin, who was killed when his motorcycle was struck by a woman who was texting while driving. If you are a subscriber to the Beaver County Times, you can read an article about the bill by J.D. Prose here.

Following this big win for the bill he sponsored, Gibbons was also featured on the PA House YouTube Channel where he stressed the importance of stiff penalties as a deterant for texting while driving and stated that the bill will now go to the House floor and eventually to the Governor’s desk.
