As we move into September and continue deepening our countywide infrastructure ahead of the general election and beyond, I want to reassure you, and ask you to reassure your neighbors, that Pennsylvania’s mail‑in voting system remains safe, trusted, and unchanged.

Despite recent rhetoric from the federal administration, Beaver County’s process is secure, transparent, and well administered. Our trusted Commissioner Tony Amadio oversees the Elections Bureau. Our Election Director is already preparing back‑up action plans should any changes be forced on mail‑in voting.

When speaking with voters who are worried, the PA Democratic Party recommends using this language verbatim:

• Nothing has changed for Pennsylvania’s elections.

• Trump and the Republicans are trying to sow confusion and discourage voters. Don’t fall for it!

• Make your plan to vote now – by mail, at the polls, or on‑demand with a mail ballot at a county election office.

Please continue encouraging voters to use mail‑in ballots with confidence. And if someone still feels uneasy, remind them they can vote early at the Beaver County Courthouse for added peace of mind.

We also invite you to join this week’s Winning Wednesday on September 9 at 7 PM at the BCDC Office, where Matt Colbert, our PA Dems regional Voter Protection representative, will present on voter‑protection protocols and how to support voter protection on election day.

Donate an item, big or small, to our silent auction. This year, we are asking for bottles of liquor or wine, gift cards to local businesses, or lottery tickets to add to our auction baskets. Drop items off at the office or contact Jo at 724-816-2356 to arrange pickup.

We’ve identified a need in our community and are hoping you can help. We are collecting items to fill teachers’ supply closets for the new school year.

We contacted the local elementary schools to ask for wish lists.

  • #2 and colored pencils, boxes of 16 crayons
  • Post-it notes, stapler refills, scotch tape refills
  • 3-hole folders, 1 subject notebooks, glue sticks
• Others would like cleaning supplies.

  • Paper towels
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Facial tissues
• A few requested items for their students. 
  • Clothing basics – new socks, underwear, t-shirts, gloves
  • Hygiene items – soap, shampoo, toothpaste

The most impact you can have this election season is knocking on doors. Infrequent voters are more likely to go to the polls if a passionate volunteer has a conversation with them. Don’t worry if you haven’t knocked before. We will give you the tools to be successful.

Rob Matzie‘s campaign knocks doors every Tuesday at 5:30 pm and every Saturday at 10 am. The meeting location may change each week, so you will receive a follow-up text after you sign up.

Knock doors on Saturdays and Sundays with the PA Dems to talk to voters about Governor Shapiro, Lt. Gov. Austin Davis, Congressman Chris Deluzio, and our PA House candidates, Rob Matzie, Sydney Speicher, and Jake Young. Sign up to let them know to expect you. 

Can’t knock? Drivers are needed to help us get to more doors. Sign up for any of the above canvasses and get paired with a door knocker.

Our Roadside Rally this Friday will be in honor of the events of September 11th.

Joining us will be our friends at Beaver County Peacelinks and Democratic National Committee Vice Chair PA State Representative Malcolm Kenyatta (above, speaking at a 2024 BCDC event).

We request that your signs reflect the 25th anniversary of 9/11.

October 19, 2026 – Last day to change your address, name, or register to vote for the first time before the general election

October 27, 2026 – Last day to apply for a mail-in ballot or vote early in-person

November 3, 2026 – Election Day. Last day to vote in the General election or deliver your mail ballot to the Courthouse. Your poll is open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
