Congressional candidate Erin McClelland sat down with her son, Tristan, to discuss the recent gun violence sit-in. In the following video, she explains the historic significance of the sit-in, and how it represented Democrats standing together in solidarity.
McClelland also pointed out that she was disappointed her Congressman was not in attendance to represent the opposing viewpoint. She believes that the point of government is to have these difficult debates, and said that if there was a Republican sit-in, she would be eager to show up and debate the topic.
On the specific issue of gun control, Erin believes that there must be a way that we can stop selling guns to terrorists without infringing on the Second Amendment rights that so many voters in her district want to protect.
