Our next Committee meeting will take place on Thursday, February 6th at Monaca Turners, 1700 Old Brodhead Road, Monaca. Doors open at 5pm for petition signing. The meeting will begin at 7pm. All registered Democrats are welcome.

In accordance with our newly ratified bylaws, the meeting will also serve as the 2020 Candidates’ Forum. Each candidate seeking the Democratic nomination in a district that includes Beaver County will be invited to address the Committee. At the conclusion of the Forum, the Committee will vote on whether to endorse candidates in advance of the primary election. If the Committee votes to endorse, the Endorsement Convention will take place two weeks later on February 20th at a location to be determined.

Additionally, the February 6th meeting will be immediately followed by a presentation by the Western Pennsylvania Coalition for a National Health Program about Improved Medicare for All. the program will consist of a PowerPoint presentation followed by presenter remarks and a question and answer session. The remarks will include explanations on how the enactment of national Improved Medicare for All legislation would benefit union members and help to eliminate racial disparities in medical outcomes.
