Lifetime Achievement Award
Nancy Cozzucoli Werme
Nancy Werme is the epitome of a Democratic Committee Member and a pillar of our organization. During her four terms as prothonotary, she remained an active member of both the Executive Board and the full Committee. She has recruited and worked for candidates at all levels hosting fundraisers, knocking doors, and working the polls. Nancy is an influential member of our Beaver County community, and she remains an ambassador of Democratic candidates and ideals.
Volunteer of the Year
Olga Navarro-Bobish
Olga has worked tirelessly to elect Democrats since at least 2008. She is a founder of the Beaver County Democratic Volunteers. She recruited members, maintained phone and email records, and kept in regular contact with volunteers when this work was not being done by the Committee. The reorganization of the Committee would have been much more difficult without Olga’s dedication to keeping volunteers involved in the last decade.
Olga has opened her home for weekly voter outreach and has organized numerous voter registration events. She initiates new projects, identifies and mentors new leaders, and trains them to manage their own events. Even though she spends winters away from Beaver County she continues to call volunteers and voters. In the weeks preceding each election, she does so much canvassing that it can take her about two weeks to recover physically. Olga embodies the definition of volunteer of the year, every year.
Rising Star
Erin Kelley
In the last two years, Erin Kelley has managed campaigns for Amy Fazio, Julian Taylor, and Ted Knafelc. She dove head first into helping our current 2020 candidates, offering advice and assistance. She is a canvassing machine; she will go anywhere, anytime. She is an expert on Votebuilder and MiniVAN. She has gained a wealth of knowledge running campaigns that has been instrumental to our Committee and will be for years to come. We can’t wait to see what Erin will do next.
